The future of Nokia PureView: Possible slimmer models

Image
Nokia's 808 PureView may not be the last high-spec camera phone in stores just yet, but that doesn't mean those Finnish cameraphone obsessives aren't already cooking up a buffet of high-megapixel ideas for the future. Vesa Jutila, Head of Product Marketing for the incoming 808 PureView, told that there was plenty more high-spec digital imaging products in the pipeline. While he wasn't about to be drawn on specifics for any future Lumia-Pureview unions just yet, there were "multiple ways" that Nokia could run with its new imaging jewel. Slimmer models are a possibility, still containing high-end Zeiss optics and Nokia's oversampling techniques avoiding the need for optical zoom. He added that the next generation of Nokia camera sensors are already being worked on.Jutila included one more soupçon of information: future PureView products "would not necessarily have the same 41-megapixel sensor" that we've been playing with recently

Nokia drops support for Skype on the Lumia 610

Image
Nokia announced that it is dropping support for the Skype app for Windows Phone on their recently announced Lumia 610. The reason for this, according to Nokia is given below... “Nokia values the user experience provided by its products and services. Therefore, although the Skype Windows Phone version is workable on Nokia Lumia 610, after in-depth testing, we found that the user experience is not up to par with Nokia and Skype’s expectation and decided not recommending users using Skype on Nokia Lumia 610. In the future, users of Nokia Lumia 610 would no longer be able to download Skype Windows Phone version from Window Phone Marketplace. However, Skype Windows Phone version would still be available for other users.” The reason might be due to weaker hardware on Lumia 610 .  This might also rise issues with other apps performance on this phone...

David Beckham promotes the Galaxy Note as Samsung's Olympic Games ambassador

Samsung seems to be getting into the Olympic party .relationship with David Beckham, the company's official representative of the Games. Samsung has released a new commercial featuring the LA Galaxy star(David Bekham) and also the company's official representative of the Games, talking on the Note before kicking out a rendition of Ode to Joy with some drums and a soccer ball. In keeping with many of Samsung's promotional ventures, the Galaxy Note itself doesn't feature very heavily in the commercial, but it could be a canny move nonetheless. Beckham has made unlikely fashion hits out of fauxhawks and sarongs in the past, so there may be no better icon to convince the masses that it's okay to speak on a gargantuan phone in public.

Fresh Fitness Gadget from Nike.

Image
What's the goodness in exercise if you don’t get rewarded for doing it? It was with this in mind that Nike launched another fitness product ... the Nike+ FuelBand . It’s a wristband, like the Jawbone Up , but it works reliably. It registers steps like the FitBit Ultra , but it syncs to a smartphone wirelessly.
